At 99 Cents Only Stores Asset Protection Lead coaches and leads employees in asset protection best practices to ensure a safe, secure and profitable environment throughout the store. The APL works with the store team members and RAPM to resolve any hazards or compliance issues and reviews accidents as assigned. The APL will have a basic understanding of the store emergency response policies and procedures. The Asset Protection Lead will ensure our customers have a great shopping experience by providing top notch service and support throughout our store location. Additionally, the APL is a crucial part of the store operations staff, and plays a fundamental role in driving top lines sales, shrink reduction and a positive customer shopping experience, while protecting the profitability of the store.
Duties and Responsibilities • Execute daily, weekly, and monthly shrink and safety audits • Review and training of Vigil Trends • Daily physical security walks as directed through the daily APL focus list • Assist the store in shrink, scrap, and safety initiatives and training • Assist store location in the store inventory countdown preparation and inventory count process • Conduct Quarterly Alarm testing • Execute Excellent Customer Service with an emphasis in shoplifting deterrence • Observe and report on all internal/external theft issues to RAPM right away • Assist in the gathering and collection of evidence relating to General Liability claims • Conduct monthly night observations • Assist the RAPM’s with additional tasks as assignment by the RAPM • Assist in special request of Customers, partnering with MOD always • Maintiain professionalism to resolve customer issues and escalate any complex issues to Manager on Duty (MOD) • Thank each Customer for shopping with us • Report all shoplift activity, merchandise recoveries, or Customer issues to the Incident Reporting Hotline • Follow all Emergency Reporting Procedures as outlined in Safety and Security SOP

Ability to read and comprehend instructions and write basic incident reports
Proven ability to multi-task
Prior retail experience would be considered a plus, but not required
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, show initiative and work in a team
